100 Years of Social Housing

Social Video

To celebrate 100 years of social housing in Stoke-on-Trent, we partnered with The Forum to produce a documentary exploring the lasting social impact of safe, secure housing across the city.

Created for a live event and Q&A, the film brought together organisations including  Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Honeycomb Group, EPIC Housing and Brighter Futures, to highlight the role social housing continues to play across the city.

The production combined archive footage, interviews and observational filming to tell the story of social housing through the experiences of local residents, housing providers and community leaders. Working alongside local historian Fred Hughes and the Staffordshire Film Archive, we incorporated historical footage to connect the city’s past with present-day stories.

Filmed across multiple locations in Stoke-on-Trent, the documentary focused on creating an honest and people-led narrative while balancing the input of multiple stakeholders and partner organisations.

The final film now supports The Forum’s ongoing engagement and communications activity, helping promote a more joined-up approach to housing across the city.
